We think donors are entitled to a straight answer about what happens to their money, so here is the breakdown we work to.
- Direct program delivery — rations, school fees, medicines, treatment, water infrastructure
- Emergency response reserve — held back deliberately, see below
- Field operations and logistics — transport, storage, distribution
- Administration — the smallest share, and never funded from Zakat
Why we hold a reserve
When a flood or an earthquake hits, the first seventy-two hours decide a great deal. Fundraising after the event is too slow — by the time money arrives, the moment when shelter and clean water mattered most has passed. Keeping a reserve means our teams can move immediately.
What we publish
Every donor receives an acknowledgement. Donations are recorded against their receipt once the transfer is confirmed, and Zakat is tracked in its own ledger so it can be shown to have gone only to eligible recipients.
