Zakat Calculator
Metal rates last updated 9 August 2026. Gold and silver prices move daily — please check today’s rate before relying on the figure below.
How this is worked out
Zakat is due at 2.5% of the wealth you have held for one lunar year, once that wealth is above the nisab threshold. This calculator adds up your zakatable assets, subtracts what you owe, compares the result against nisab, and takes 2.5% if you are above it.
Nisab is fixed in weight — 7.5 tola of gold or 52.5 tola of silver — but its cash value moves with the market, which is why the rates above matter. The silver threshold is lower, so choosing it means more people are liable and more reaches those in need.
This is a guide, not a ruling
It covers the situations most households face. Zakat on agricultural produce, livestock, rental property, pensions, complex business structures or debts unlikely to be repaid is treated differently, and rulings vary between schools. For anything beyond the ordinary, please ask a qualified scholar.
