Every contribution is a light in someone’s life.

About Us

How M Noor Foundation started, what we believe, and the way we work with the families we serve.

M Noor Foundation is a general welfare organisation. We work with households that fall through the gaps — families who earn too little to cope with an illness, a school fee or a bad season, and who have nowhere to turn when one of those things happens.

The foundation began with a small group of volunteers delivering ration bags in neighbourhoods that no organisation was reaching. What we learned in those first months still shapes everything we do: help that arrives once and then disappears rarely changes anything. Families recover when support is consistent, when someone checks in, and when the underlying problem — a child out of school, an untreated illness, no clean water on the street — is dealt with rather than patched over.

Today we run six ongoing programs covering education, healthcare, food security, clean water, orphan and widow care, and emergency relief. Each one is funded separately and reported on openly, so donors can see exactly what their giving supported.

What guides us

Our values

Dignity first

Nobody should have to plead for help. We treat every applicant as we would a guest, and we protect their privacy in everything we publish.

Verify, then act

Every case is visited and assessed before support is approved, so donations reach the households that genuinely need them.

Stay until it holds

We commit to families for a period, not a moment — following up month after month until the situation is stable.

Open books

Donors receive acknowledgements, and program spending is reported so anyone can see where the money went.

No conditions

Support is given on the basis of need alone — never on background, belief or affiliation.

Local hands

Our volunteers are from the communities they serve, which is why help arrives quickly and lands where it should.

How we work

From a request for help to a family back on its feet

  1. A case reaches us

Through our helpline, a volunteer, or a neighbour who tells us about a household in difficulty.

  2. We visit and assess

A team member meets the family at home to understand the situation, the income, and what would actually make the difference.

  3. Support is approved

The case is matched to the right program and a defined period of support — rations, fees, treatment, or a combination.

  4. We follow up

Monthly check-ins track whether things are improving, and support is extended, adjusted or wound down accordingly.

You can change one family’s year today

A month of rations, a term of school fees, a course of medicine — small, steady giving is what keeps our programs running.
